Cyberpsychology

Cyberpsychology is the study of the human mind and behaviour in the context of human-technology interaction. It encompasses all psychological phenomena that are associated with or impacted by emerging technology.

Special Purpose Awards 2011/12

CCTA is delighted to announce a range of Level 7 and Level 8 Certificates in Psychology and related areas. These Special Purpose Awards will run on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm from 30th September.

Cognitive Training

This study attempts to investigate cognitive skills improvements experienced by older adults using technology and text based aids – comparing brain training games on a console or similar games in a book.

This research will study how young people negotiate identity online and the impact that virtual identity formation can have in teenagers’ real life arena.

Conceptions of Intelligence

This study investigated whether employers implicit theories of intelligence are of a cognitive or emotional nature, and how these theories affect the perceived employability and perceived intelligence of a job candidate with Asperger Syndrome.

Cyberbullying

Cyber Bullying is also known as electronic bullying, SMS bullying, mobile bullying, online or internet bullying. The vast majority of it takes place in chat rooms, and by computer text messaging and e-mail.

Memory Aid for Older Adults

This project aims to design an interactive system to support memory in older adults. We focus on Prospective Memory, or remembering to do things in the future, since this is an important aspect of daily living that shows an age-related decline.

M-Learning

This project aims to mainstream mLearning approaches in mainstream education and training. IADT is a key partner, alongside Ericsson Education, in this Leonardo Da Vinci project.

Gateway

The GATEWAY project facilitates and encourages the use of Assistive Technologies for people with disabilities entering both third level education and the workplace.

Nomad

In 2001, the NOMAD consortiun was formed, which combined research groupings from three IoTs to examine using advanced wireless technology to improve communication.
